Our Electrical Safe Panel Entry Course will ensure that your people can safely enter electrical control panels to reset tripped circuit breakers or motor overload relays.
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require people to be competent and the need to switch off for mechanical maintenance.
Effective control measures can be introduced to reduce the risk from live parts, mechanical movement, heat, arcing and explosion.
Who should take this course?
Our course is suitable for people whose work activities involve the maintenance and operation of production machinery with responsibility for resetting tripped circuit breakers or overloads.
Our course aims to improve the productivity and safety of your people. We will train your people to safely enter control panels to carry out basic electrical tasks, such as resetting of motor overload devices and circuit protection devices in electrical control panels.
Our course has been designed as an introduction to electrical safe panel entry and no previous training is needed.
We can tailor course content to incorporate your company’s own Safe Isolation and Permit-to-Work systems.
On completion of this training course, you will understand
– Your duties when working on, or near live electrical equipment
– Electrical hazards, potential risks, and effective control measures
– Why user checks are essential before using electrical equipment
– Why switch off and/or isolation is essential before entering any electrical control panel
– How to safely reset motor overloads and circuit breakers
