Our Portable Appliance Testing Course will ensure that your people understand the requirements of the 5th Edition Code of Practice for In Service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment.

Our course covers the legal requirements, basic electrical theory, practical inspection & testing of electrical equipment (portable appliances).

Our course is suitable for companies who would like to train their own people to carry out routine inspection and testing of electrical equipment (portable appliances), potentially saving money on external contractors.

Our course has been designed as an introduction to portable appliance testing and is suitable for people with little or no previous experience who want to out inspection and testing of portable appliances in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this training course, you will understand;

– The importance of periodic inspection of electrical equipment for safety

– Basic electrical circuit theory relating to electrical faults

– How visual inspection can identify damage to appliances

– The purpose and functions of a PAT tester

– Practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment

Assessment & Certification

Your people will be assessed via an online multiple-choice test, which can be completed on a mobile device such as a smart phone.

A Certificate of Training will be sent to the course organiser on successful completion of the final assessment.
